~ Image Editor: ~ this should be the path to your image editing application if this is not left empty, when you take a snapshot pixexix will attempt to run the application and open the snapshot. This feature does not yet work in OSX, you'll have to open the snapshot file in your image editor yourself. ~ Path for active snapshot: ~ where the snapshot image gets saved to, whenever this file is modified, pixexix will load it and project it onto the texture using the selected snapshot projection. if you haven't specified an image editor, you will have to open it yourself after taking a snapshot. ~ Snapshot File Type: ~ Specify .PSD (Layered) or .PNG (flat) snapshot files. .PSD compatibility will vary between programs more than .PNG so if you are having problems, change the file type to .PNG. ~ Background Color: ~ Set the red, green and blue value for the background (will always be exported with 0 transparency) ~ Draw Margins: ~ leave this turned on or you will get seams at the edges of your uv islands. if you prefer to tidy the seams yourself, feel free to turn this off. ~ Snapshot Resolution: ~ how large the snapshot image will be, the larger the image the greater the projection quality but keep in mind there will always be slight pixel imperfections, especially if your model's texture is very small. it's a good idea to use a larger texture than you hope to use, but keep in mind that larger textures take up more memory, and pixexix will run slower ^__^; do keep in mind though that however large this is, you cant project detail onto the mesh's texture if there is no room for it. don't spend hours painting detail into what will ultimately be a single pixel ;) if you have pixexix pro, you can set this as high as 2048 or 4096, but pixexix can't work at that resolution on some graphics cards, if this is the case the resolution will cycle back to the lowest available one. ~ Default Snapshot Settings: ~ what settings snapshots have by default, for more info look at the snapshots documentation page. |
